Transgender women could walk away with all the medals at sporting events like the Olympic Games if allowed to compete against biological females .This has the potential to deprive female sports icons like Shelly-Ann Fraser-Price and Sha’Cari Richardson of the ability to make a living off sport. In addition, it could lead to a dramatic decline in the number of women who participate in sport on a regular basis.
Anyone who thinks this is an exaggeration would do well to note the following:
1) Florence Joyner Griffins’ 100 m world record of 10.49 seconds – set in 1988 – was beaten in the 2017 season by 744 men who bettered the record 2825 times. (See Link 1.)Her record is approximately 10 % slower than Usain Bolts’ 9.58 and almost half a second slower than the 10.00 that men will need to run in order to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. In contrast, women will need a relatively pedestrian 11.07,
which is approximately 11 % slower. (2)
2) The men’s long jump world record of 8.95 m is about 15 % longer than the women’s record of 7.52 m. (1)
3) The men’s high jump record of 2.45 m is roughly 15 % higher than the women’s record of 2.09m. (1)
4) In 1998 the Williams sisters, Serena and Venus, claimed they would beat any man outside of the top 200. This resulted in them being challenged by world number 203, Karsten Braasch, who in front of a large crowd at Melbourne Park, beat Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2. This subsequently resulted in the Williams sisters claiming they could beat any man outside of the top 350. (3)
Many years later, Serena Williams scoffed on the David Letterman Show at the suggestion that she could beat her mixed doubles partner, Andy Murray (stating that he would beat her 6-0, 6-0 in under 10
minutes). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hzHBsvj6C0
5) In weightlifting, the world record holder in the men’s + 69 kg category, Liao Hui, lifted more weight than the record holder in the women’s +90 kg category (Tatiana Kashirina – the world’s strongest woman – who was 4 inches taller and 38 kilogrammes heavier). The explanation for this is that a male who has gone through puberty usually has-due to testosterone- a much stronger skeleton and much denser muscles than a female of the same size. In addition, he usually would have a much larger heart, greater lung capacity and higher haemoglobin levels etc. (1)
6) In 2022, Lia Thomas (a University of Pennsylvania swimmer ranked 65th on the college circuit in the men’s 500 m freestyle) started competing as a female and in the following year won the women’s 500 m freestyle at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. In doing so, she finished 1.75 seconds ahead of Emma Weyant, who won silver in the 400 m individual medley at the 2020 Olympic Games. In addition, Lia improved her College ranking from 554th in the men’s 200 m freestyle to 5th in the women’s event. (Martina Navratilova and Caitlyn Jenner have argued that Lia – who is 6.4 m tall – should not be allowed to compete allowed to compete in women’s events.)
7) In March 2023, the head coach of Canada’s powerlifting team, Avi Silverberg (a biological male who sports a beard) took advantage of Canada’s ultra liberal laws (which compel authorities to allow anyone who self-identifies as a woman to compete in women’s events). This resulted in him bench-pressing 370 pounds in the women’s +84 kg category, which was 95 pounds more than the record set by Anne Andres (a trans woman who had undergone surgery many years earlier). Although Silverberg did not issue a statement, speculation has it that he was trying to draw attention to the fact that Canada’s rules have the potential to make a mockery of women’s sport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jypwVtS8FgU
Several months later, Anne Andres entered the Masters Championship – which is reserved for women over 40 – and annihilated the record by lifting 597.5 kg with her 3 lifts, which was a staggering 210 kg more than her nearest competitor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DioqbeGeqpQ
8)Caster Semenya – a biological male/intersex athlete who suffers from a genetic disorder usually characterised by a severely under-virilized penis and testicles that remain hidden in the abdomen https://www.pressreader.com/south-africa/the-citizen-kzn/20201218/281749861951041
– won gold in the women’s 800 m at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and probably would have won gold at the 2020 Olympics if she had obeyed regulations that required her( and other trans women competing in certain events) to lower their testosterone levels. In addition, she won gold in the 800 m at 3 World Championships, making her one of the most dominant athletes in recent history.(
9) The number of trans women competing in women’s sport is – due to scholarships and other financial incentives – likely to increase dramatically in years to come and will skyrocket if sporting bodies are forced by law to ’give the green light’ to anyone who claims to identify as a woman.
10) The fact that we cannot be absolutely fair (which would probably entail having height or weight divisions in most events) does not mean that we should allow someone like Floyd Mayweather or Mike Tyson to climb into the ring against a female boxer.
Clearly, we must strive to be as fair as possible.
A FEW ADDITIONAL POINTS
1) In January 2023, a biological man who had raped 2 women claimed to identify as a woman and was sent to a women’s prison. Although she was being held in isolation (and had little or no contact with other prisoners), a heated debate in Scotland’s Parliament later resulted in her being transferred to a male prison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyTu4rKTDTk
2) In 2022 a biological man who claimed to identify as a woman was sent to a women’s prison in New Jersey. This led to her making 2 women pregnant and being transferred to a men’s prison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iN3_DGRUZ0
3) In the UK and some other jurisdictions, a husband could probably have his marriage annulled on the grounds that his wife had intentionally deceived him (by failing to disclose that she was a trans woman and therefore incapable of providing him with the children she knew he wanted). This annulment would deprive the wife of the financial benefits she would receive if the husband was forced to go the usual route and institute divorce proceedings. It also would allow the husband to exit the marriage more quickly.

However, this will almost certainly not be possible if our courts decide that a biological man who identifies as a woman is a real woman and cannot be questioned about her biological sex.
Simply put, a decision to allow biological men to compete in sport as women could have far-reaching consequences and therefore requires a lot more discussion. This is unlikely to happen if left-wing organizations and ‘woke’ individuals are allowed to harass and threaten people who dare to disagree with them/are allowed to harass and threaten people who have seen- thanks to a pinch of common-sense and the passage of time – that the road to hell is indeed paved with good intentions.
